Last Saturday the local 209radio show ‘Bums On Seats’ aired a piece about the restoration of the old Sawston cinema and PROJECTING THE PAST, a documentary detailing the history of cinema. The Cambridge Film Trust was interviewed as a part of the piece which is archived on the 209radio website for the next two weeks. Don’t miss out, listen now!

Our resident photographer Tom Catchesides has captured some great footage of passers-by admiring our fantastic People’s Cinema project. It has proven to be quite a hit with the public, garnering coverage on BBC Look East, and this short clip demonstrates just how interested the people of Cambridge were in our screenings. Last Thursday 11 June we launched our People’s Cinema project, turning an empty shop in central Cambridge into a unique cinema space.  BBC Look East interviewed our director, Tony Jones, and students from Long Road Sixth Form College involved in creating the magazine-style programme designed to entertain passers-by.
