CFF Programming Panel Changes

We are thrilled to introduce you to the new faces joining the Programming Panel for CFF43.

Following two years as a CFF programmer, Savina Petkova has been appointed as the new Programming Panel Lead, stepping into the role previously held by Elle Haywood, who will continue contributing as a programme advisor.

Savina is a distinguished freelance film critic who has contributed to prominent publications such as MUBI Notebook, Little White Lies, and Variety. She brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the panel lead. She completed her PhD at King's College London and will enhance the festival's curatorial vision with her deep industry knowledge and academic insight.

Joining Savina on the panel are newcomers Teodosia Dobriyanova and Nathasha Orlando Kappler, along with the seasoned Catalan film expert Ramon Lamarca, who has been a pillar of the festival for over a decade.

Teodosia, who joins as a programmer, is a filmmaker and curator known for her work with the New East Cinema programme at the Barbican Centre. Programming Assistant Nathasha is a passionate advocate for inclusive cinema from marginalised communities.

The programming panel has already started work, seeking out the best films to bring to Cambridge this October.

Alongside these changes to the programming panel, Amon Warmann, Contributing Editor & monthly columnist at Empire Magazine and a CFF programmer since 2022, will undertake a brand new role as the Festival’s Industry Curator. In this capacity, Amon will oversee the ever-expanding CFF Industry Day and spearhead the 2024 Outstanding Contribution to Cinema Award, celebrating notable achievements in the film industry.

We look forward to welcoming you all to the 43rd Cambridge Film Festival on October 24th.
